Services for Instructors 

The LC provides access to four flexible spaces that may be used for class meetings, events, videoconferencing, or testing.  All spaces may be reserved by filling out a reservation request form. 

We have transitioned our streaming media service to the Harvard Library system, and they will continue to provide access to media for instruction, in compliance with educational fair use.

We provide access to a number of laptops, which may be checked out for use within our spaces by students and faculty.  These computers allow for multilingual word processing, the use of writing aids in a number of languages, audio recording, and webcams for teletandem and other communicative activities; they also come with microphone headsets as needed.  Requests for software to be added to our laptops, or to be made available to FAS students via subscriptions or other licensing should go to language@fas.harvard.edu.

We own and circulate equipment to faculty and designated students for specialized use.  This includes field audio recorders, miniature video cameras, and more. 

Instructors may reserve any of our group areas and classrooms for a single class meeting or standing reservation. See descriptions of the reservable spaces on our facilities page.

Faculty and students may request use of our spaces for media screenings, as long as the attendees are all enrolled in the course.  Check the calendar and schedule a group meeting.
